Key Design Decisions

Two-Letter Avatar System

All employees use first+last initial avatars (JR, SC, TM) in terracotta circles. Terminated employees get error-red backgrounds. Consistent with 3Bids avatar system across all modules.

Compliance-First Design

Document status uses traffic-light icons: green check (filed), yellow alert (expiring/pending), red close (missing), gray minus (N/A). Matrix view gives instant overview across all employees.

Termination Guardrails

Termination flow requires reason selection, equipment return verification, and final pay calculation before processing. NC labor law requires final paycheck within 24 hours of termination.

Pipeline Onboarding

Four-stage pipeline (Invited → Documents → Training → Active) with progress bars. Auto-reminders every 48 hours for pending documents. Training modules auto-assign by role.
